Softball Recap: Adena Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Adena lost to Unioto back in April, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Shermans with a sharp 7-1 victory. Considering the Warriors have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Adelynn Nelson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Adriana Guarnieri, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Adena pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Unioto, they moved to 12-9 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coming up, Adena will welcome Piketon at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Redstreaks have averaged an impressive 11.9 runs per game this season.
