Softball Game Preview: Aberdeen Eagles vs. Bel Air Bobcats

Aberdeen hasn't had much luck against Bel Air recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Eagles will square off against the Bobcats. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Aberdeen is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against City College as they made off with a 12-1 win. The Eagles' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last 11 games.

Meanwhile, Bel Air earned an 8-3 victory over Edgewood on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won five in a row.

Bel Air's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Aberdeen, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-13.

Aberdeen might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Bel Air when the teams last played back in May of 2022. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
