Volleyball Recap: Butternut Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Butternut and Hurley, and Hurley kept the tradition alive. The Midgets took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northstars on Thursday. The Midgets have struggled against the Northstars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Butternut started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-22.

Alli Lueloff paced Butternut's offense, picking up nine kills. Lueloff got some help from Lizzie Pritzl and her 14 assists. Pritzl was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Butternut's loss dropped their record down to 15-19. As for Hurley, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8.

Coming up, Butternut will welcome South Shore at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hurley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
