Bentley fell victim to Athenian and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Owls, falling 16-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Phoenix haven't been shut out since back in March.

Meanwhile, Valley Christian lost 13-7 to Ygnacio Valley on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Wolves: they've now lost four in a row.

Levi Delgado was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Hernandez, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Valley Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Bentley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Bentley took their victory against Valley Christian in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 14-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Phoenix since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
