Baseball Recap: Tupelo Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Thompson

Tupelo is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Thompson. Tupelo fell 9-4 to Thompson. The Golden Wave have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tupelo saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Henry Hardin also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Tupelo's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Thompson, they pushed their record up to 18-9 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Tupelo wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 18-14 loss against Madison Central on the 25th. As for Thompson, they have also already played their next contest, a 7-3 defeat against Hoover on the 22nd.
