Volleyball Recap: Coronado Extends Winning Streak to Three

Coronado entered their tilt with Sierra Vista on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Mountain Lions with a sharp 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While Coronado won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-14, 25-20.

GENTRY OBLAD paced Coronado's offense, picking up 18 kills. OBLAD got some help from TRU HALVORSEN and her 32 assists. HALVORSEN was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Coronado's victory bumped their record up to 21-7. As for Sierra Vista, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-11.

Coming up, Coronado will head out on the road to square off against Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sierra Vista, they will challenge Amplus Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
