League recap: Milpitas scores huge upset over Palo Alto

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Palo Alto, who took down 119th ranked Palo Alto, 24-19.

Santa Clara's Adam Garza recorded the longest rushing play in De Anza this season in his game against Mountain View last week. Garza scampered for 75 yards on the play and finished with 110 on the day as his team defeated the Spartans.

Saratoga's dynamic duo of Jonathan Walters and Kyle Dozier proved tough for Wilcox to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Walters threw for 394 yards and four touchdowns and Dozier had 216 yards receiving. Stephen Ruff helped Saratoga's passing attack out by catching four balls for 71 yards.

Delshawn Mitchell was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 316 yards on 19 carries as the Chargers fell to the Chargers. Teammate Roland Luke added to the ground attack by rushing for 187 yards.

Saratoga's Walters and Dozier have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Walters has thrown for 1311 yards this season, while Dozier, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 30 catches for 532 yards. Wilcox's Mitchell leads the league in rushing yards with 560.

A big matchup in De Anza this week will be when Santa Clara takes on Tim Lugo's team. As it stands, Mark Krail's team is in first, while the Falcons are in third.

There should be lots of points scored when the Bruins and Saratoga face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Santa Clara comes in having scored 149 this season, while the Falcons have scored 154. The Bruins scored 35 points last week as they topped Mountain View.

Milpitas moved up to 225 from 331 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Trojans climbed the ranks as a result of a 24-19 win over the Vikings.
