Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brookville). They took down the Amherst County Lancers 55-38 on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Bees: when they faced off against the Lancers back in January, they had to take a 52-25 defeat.

Brookville's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-10 and their overall record up to 3-15. As for Amherst County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.

Brookville and Amherst County could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. Brookville will square off against Jefferson Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 221 places (348 vs. 127). Brookville is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. Meanwhile, Amherst County (ranked 233rd) will meet Liberty (ranked 71st) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
