Preview: Lisbon Broncos vs. Oak Grove Lutheran Grovers
The Lisbon Broncos will head out on the road to challenge the Oak Grove Lutheran Grovers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Lisbon and 11 for Oak Grove Lutheran.
Lisbon suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Northern Cass, falling 66-37. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lisbon in their matchups with Northern Cass: they've now lost seven in a row.
The losing side was boosted by Kyra Haecherl, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Lisbon struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Oak Grove Lutheran came up short against Hatton/Northwood on Thursday and fell 54-43.
Lisbon dropped their record down to 3-11 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Oak Grove Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
Lisbon came up short against Oak Grove Lutheran when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 47-43. Can Lisbon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
