Highland took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They took down the Rio Grande Ravens 74-60. The victory continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Ravens: they've now won four in a row.

Highland got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Juan Limas out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Edwin Montelongo, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Highland was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rio Grande only posted seven.

Rio Grande lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Corde Peele, who posted 20 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Adan Velasquez, who earned 14 points and five rebounds.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highland will welcome Carlsbad at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Rio Grande, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Menaul at 7:00 p.m. on December 3.
