Soccer Game Preview: Greenway vs. Westview

The Greenway Demons will face off against the Westview Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenway is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Last Wednesday, Greenway beat Agua Fria 3-1. Given the Demons' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Owls are ranked 138th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Greenway hit Agua Fria with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Cillian Conner, Tor Conner, and Kai Becker.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westview). They were the clear victor by an 8-1 margin over St. Mary's on Thursday. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 5-1.

Westview pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four contests. As for Greenway, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

Greenway took their win against Westview when the teams last played back in December of 2015 by a conclusive 3-0. Will Greenway repeat their success, or does Westview have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
