Soccer Game Preview: South Summit vs. Morgan

South Summit is 0-10 against Morgan since April of 2021 but things could change on Wednesday. The Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Trojans at 3:30 p.m. Morgan took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on South Summit, who comes in off a win.

South Summit is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over Wendover on Monday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded South Summit with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Morgan fought the good fight in their overtime match against Ogden last Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Morgan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah soccer rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Ogden are ranked seventh).

South Summit's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Morgan, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-6.

South Summit might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Morgan in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
