Hamilton Southeastern posted their closest win since September 26, 2024 on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Westfield Shamrocks 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Royals sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Hamilton Southeastern was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (111-109), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 26-24, 20-25, 22-25, 26-24, 15-13.

Among those leading the charge was Mia Walpole, who had ten digs and three assists. Those ten digs gave her a new career-high.

Despite the defeat, Westfield had strong showings from Kendyl Strack, who had 21 digs and three aces, and Emily Blevins, who had 31 assists and eight digs. Blevins has been hot, having posted 14 or more assists the last seven times she's played. Carsyn Comer also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Hamilton Southeastern's win bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Westfield, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 15-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hamilton Southeastern will be taking part in a tournament against Plainfield at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Westfield, they will challenge Mt. Vernon at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
