Football Recap: Tavares Takes a Loss

Tavares fell victim to Belleview and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They were outmatched by the Belleview Rattlers and fell 46-0. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Belleview had a senior duo take command as Hannah Mason threw for 69 yards and four touchdowns while completing 83.3% of her passes and Jakyra Bostick picked up 51 receiving yards and three touchdowns. That's the most passing touchdowns Mason has posted since back in April of 2024.

Tavares' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Belleview, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

After each having a week off, Tavares and Lake Minneola will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field one another at 6:00 p.m. on March 18th. Tavares has given up an average of 30.2 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for Belleview, they will be taking part in a tournament against Navarre at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Belleview will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last.
