Baseball Game Preview: Robertsdale Golden Bears vs. McGill-Toolen Yellowjackets

The Robertsdale Golden Bears will face off against the McGill-Toolen Yellowjackets at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Robertsdale beats McGill-Toolen with five runs on Saturday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Robertsdale walked away with a 5-2 win over Baldwin County on Friday.

Kael Nielson looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Robertsdale saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Mcdaniel, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another was Logan Gregson, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, McGill-Toolen gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Jackson County, sneaking past 9-7.

Everything went Robertsdale's way against McGill-Toolen in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Robertsdale made off with a 10-1 victory. Does Robertsdale have another victory up their sleeve, or will McGill-Toolen turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
