            Volleyball Recap: Marquette Mustangs vs. Blue Valley Southwest Timberwolves        
        
		
        
        
            Marquette is ranked highly in their home state and   on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Blue Valley Southwest. The Mustangs fell just short of the Timberwolves by a score of  2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Timberwolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  3-2  on Friday.
 Teagan Pocius paced Marquette's offense, picking up seven kills. Pocius were helped by Maggie Smith and  Addison Twyman, who contributed eight assists each.  Danaya Petkova controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Blue Valley Southwest to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Melia Peters, who  had 12  digs and two  aces. That's the most  aces  Peters has posted  over her last seven  matches.
This is the second loss in a row for Marquette and  nudges their season record down to 15-13. As for Blue Valley Southwest, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 17 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-3 record  this season.
 Marquette wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  contest,  a  2-1  defeat against Mill Valley on the 11th. As for Blue Valley Southwest, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  match,  a  2-0  win against Blue Valley West on the 11th.
