Softball Recap: Northland Lutheran Wildcats vs. Menominee Indian Eagles
After only two runs in their last matchup, Northland Lutheran made sure to put some runs up on the board against Menominee Indian on Tuesday. The Wildcats blew past the Eagles 15-8. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by seven runs or more this season.
Adrianna Hengst made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Hengst was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Northland Lutheran got a massive performance out of Abby Ostrowski, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Kenzie Rohland was another key player, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Northland Lutheran always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .587. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Northland Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Menominee Indian, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.
