Baseball Game Preview: McNair Eagles vs. Franklin Yellowjackets

McNair is 0-10 against Franklin since May of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Eagles will face off against the Yellowjackets at 4:00 p.m. McNair has given up an average of 12.1 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

McNair is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 25th straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. They came up short against Franklin, falling 15-0.

For Franklin's part, they let Larry Cachua and Dallas Campoy run wild. Cachua went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI, while Campoy scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Cachua has become a key player for Franklin: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 4-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Devian Bautista, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Franklin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Franklin has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for McNair, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.
