Soccer Game Preview: Providence Day vs. Oceanside Collegiate Academy

The Providence Day Chargers will challenge the Oceanside Collegiate Academy Landsharks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Providence Day sitting on five straight wins and Oceanside Collegiate Academy on eight.

On Thursday, Providence Day made easy work of Charlotte Country Day School and carried off a 4-1 victory. Providence Day might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by three goals or more this season.

They hit Charlotte Country Day School with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Mikayla Pieratt, Abby Goldean, Lia Zimmer, and Emory Osias.

Meanwhile, Oceanside Collegiate Academy kept a clean sheet against Hanahan on Thursday. They blew past the Hawks 11-0. Give Oceanside Collegiate Academy's defense some credit: that's the team's sixth straight shutout.

Oceanside Collegiate Academy's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 37 goals over those four matches. As for Providence Day, their win bumped their record up to 10-0-1.

Everything went Providence Day's way against Oceanside Collegiate Academy in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Providence Day made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Chargers repeat their success, or do the Landsharks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
