Basketball Recap: Blooming Grove Comes Up Short

Blooming Grove lost against Palmer back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Blooming Grove Lions took a blow against the Palmer Bulldogs, falling 74-36. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1299th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 401st).

Blooming Grove has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Palmer, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-7.

Blooming Grove will face off against Keene at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Blooming Grove is facing Keene at the right time seeing as Keene is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Palmer, they will challenge Scurry-Rosser at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Scurry-Rosser has won seven straight at home, while Palmer won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
