Weir had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Buckeye Local on Friday. The Red Riders were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over the Panthers. The Red Riders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Evan Kaczmarek, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Weir is 3-1 when Kaczmarek posts two or more runs, but 7-13 otherwise. Nico Glass was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Weir always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Weir has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-14 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Buckeye Local, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-13.

Looking ahead, Weir will venture away from home to square off against Union Local at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Buckeye Local will be paying especially close attention to the Red Riders' contest: after the Red Riders face off against the Jets, they'll take on Buckeye Local again at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
