Volleyball Recap: Northpoint Christian Gets the Win

While Northpoint Christian's victory against Lewisburg wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Trojans had just enough and edged out the Patriots 2-1 on Saturday. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Valerie Hurdle paced Northpoint Christian's offense, picking up 12 kills. Hurdle got some help from Sarah Johnson and her 29 assists. Robbye England controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Lewisburg's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of HadleigH Woods, who had six digs and three aces, and Laney Wier, who had nine digs and two assists. Gathright Makayla also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Northpoint Christian's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Lewisburg, their loss dropped their record down to 19-8.

Coincidentally, Northpoint Christian and Lewisburg will both be playing Madison-Ridgeland Academy the next time they take the court. The Trojans will host the Patriots at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Patriots will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
