The Chase Kats will head out on the road to face off against the Central Plains Oilers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Chase has struggled recently with 14 defeats in a row, while Central Plains will arrive with three straight victories.
Last Monday, Chase had to suffer through a rough 66-11 loss at the hands of Otis-Bison. Chase was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-3.
Luke Miller was Chase's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Miller also led the team in rebounds with eight.
Meanwhile, Central Plains didn't have too much trouble with Thomas More Prep-Marian on the road on Friday as they won 45-28. Given Central Plains' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while Thomas More Prep-Marian is ranked 290th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chase bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.2 points per game. As for Central Plains, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
