Basketball Game Preview: Amboy Clippers vs. Pearl City Wolves

Amboy is 3-0 against Pearl City since November of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Amboy Clippers will be playing at home against the Pearl City Wolves at 2:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Amboy comes in on six and Pearl City on three.

Last Thursday, everything came up roses for Amboy against Morrison as the team secured a 42-13 win. Given the Clippers' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while the Mustangs are ranked 657th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Pearl City humbled Forreston with a 51-23 victory.

Amboy's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.3 points per game. As for Pearl City, their win bumped their record up to 8-14.

Everything came up roses for Amboy against Pearl City in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, as the squad secured a 47-13 victory. Will Amboy repeat their success, or does Pearl City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
