Basketball Game Preview: Sloan-Hendrix Greyhounds vs. Izard County Cougars

Sloan-Hendrix and Izard County are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Sloan-Hendrix Greyhounds will host the Izard County Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Sloan-Hendrix comes in on three and Izard County on six.

Last Friday, everything came up roses for Sloan-Hendrix against Mammoth Spring as the team secured a 66-32 win. The Greyhounds have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Izard County earned a 46-35 victory over Marked Tree on Saturday.

Izard County is also on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.2 points per game. As for Sloan-Hendrix, their win bumped their record up to 23-2.

Sloan-Hendrix skirted past Izard County 47-45 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Will Sloan-Hendrix repeat their success, or does Izard County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
