Basketball Game Preview: Bishop Manogue Miners vs. Reno Huskies

Two dominant guards in Josie Williamson and Brookesly Wilson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Bishop Manogue Miners will square off against the Reno Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Bishop Manogue is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Spanish Springs, who was ranked fourth at the time (Bishop Manogue was ranked 22nd). Bishop Manogue took a 50-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Spanish Springs on Tuesday. The Miners' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Reno). They strolled past Damonte Ranch with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 66-50. The victory was familiar territory for the Huskies who have now won nine matches in a row.

Reno's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Bishop Manogue, their loss dropped their record down to 12-11.

Bishop Manogue lost to Reno on the road by a decisive 55-39 margin when the teams last played on January 8th. Can Bishop Manogue avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
