After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Owen, Draughn was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Hibriten Panthers by a score of 9-6. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Avie Helton made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Helton was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Draughn got a massive performance out of Lindsey Hensley, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Bailey Winkler, who scored two runs while going 5-for-5.

Draughn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Draughn's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Hibriten, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-5.

Coming up, Draughn will head out on the road to take on Owen at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Warhorses' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hibriten, they will host Freedom at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.13 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
