Basketball Game Preview: Frankton Eagles vs. Elwood Panthers

Frankton is 10-0 against Elwood since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Frankton Eagles will look to defend their home court against the Elwood Panthers at 8:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Frankton is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Anderson Prep Academy 65-24 on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Frankton had a senior duo take command as Emma Key dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 assists and Ann Curtis almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Curtis a new career-high in points. Macy Curtis was another key player, going 5 of 10 on her way to 12 points.

Frankton was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Elwood entered their tilt with Liberty Christian on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Lions 47-22. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Elwood's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Frankton, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.

Everything came up roses for Frankton against Elwood when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 61-19 win. Will Frankton repeat their success, or does Elwood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
