Softball Recap: Marian Catholic Comes Up Short

Marian Catholic made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Joliet Catholic, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Spartans fell just short of the Hilltoppers by a score of 4-2 on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Hilltoppers: they've now lost five in a row.

Marian Catholic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Jensen, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Marian Catholic now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Joliet Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Joliet Catholic will take on Plainfield South at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Marian Catholic will be paying especially close attention to the Hilltoppers' match: after the Hilltoppers face off against the Cougars, they'll take on Marian Catholic again at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
