Basketball Recap: Jay County Piles Up the Points Against South Adams

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bluffton, Jay County was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They really took it to the South Adams Starfires for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-14 victory. That 40 point margin sets a new team best for the Patriots this season.

Jay County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hallie Schwieterman, who went 6 of 15 en route to 17 points and seven steals. The game was Schwieterman's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Amelia Heath, who went 7 for 9 on her way to 14 points.

Jay County's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9. As for South Adams, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

Jay County will square off against Bluffton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bluffton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 70.6 points per game this season. As for South Adams, they will face off against Fort Recovery at 7:30 p.m. on January 21st.
