Basketball Game Preview: Desert Oasis Diamondbacks vs. Faith Lutheran Crusaders

The Desert Oasis Diamondbacks will head out on the road to take on the Faith Lutheran Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Desert Oasis is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Liberty, who was ranked 21st at the time (Desert Oasis was ranked 22nd). Desert Oasis took a 45-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Liberty on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Diamondbacks in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Faith Lutheran lost 64-44 to Coronado on Friday.

Faith Lutheran has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Desert Oasis, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Desert Oasis ended up a good deal behind Faith Lutheran in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, losing 65-48. Can Desert Oasis avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
