Basketball Recap: Kyler Notah's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Newcomb over Crownpoint

Newcomb was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 49-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crownpoint Eagles. The Skyhawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 62-50.

Newcomb lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kyler Notah, who posted 15 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinjii Natonabah, who scored eight points along with nine boards and four steals.

Newcomb's defeat dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Crownpoint, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-15.

Newcomb didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-41 loss against Zuni on the 19th. As for Crownpoint, they have also already played their next contest, a 68-32 defeat against Navajo Prep on the 19th.
