            Softball Recap: Byron Tigers vs. Stillman Valley Cardinals        
        
		
        
        
            Byron fell victim to Stillman Valley and their airtight pitching crew  on Wednesday. They lost  6-0 to the Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  15-2  last Thursday.
 Myla Draheim was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she  tossed six innings while giving up just one earned  (and five unearned) runs off   seven  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 13 consecutive appearances.
 At the plate, Byron saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Mia Girten, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  double.
Byron's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Stillman Valley, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record  this season.
 Byron will venture away from home to  square off against North Boone  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed four  runs per game  this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Stillman Valley, they will look to defend their home field  on Friday against Oregon  at 4:30  p.m.
