Baseball Recap: Campbell County Takes a Loss

After flying high against Jellico last Saturday, Campbell County came back down to earth. The Cougars came up short against the Karns Beavers on Wednesday, falling 11-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 10-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Campbell County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keegan Nelson, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Campbell County has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Karns, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 11-12.

While Campbell County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
