Basketball Recap: Cambridge Bears vs. Jonesboro Cardinals

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cambridge can now relate to. They took a hard 85-69 fall against the Jonesboro Cardinals on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Cardinals are ranked 36th).

Jonesboro got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cortez Redding out in front who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 12 assists. That's the most points Redding has posted since back in March of 2024. Tim Prather was another key player, to rack up 25 points and five rebounds.

Cambridge's defeat dropped their record down to 15-15. As for Jonesboro, they pushed their record up to 22-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Cambridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jonesboro, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cardinals duke it out with the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tucker will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Jonesboro surely won't give up without a fight.
