James Salinas put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in February on Saturday. He struck out five batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Marshall's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 2-1 (and 4-11 when he doesn't).

Looking ahead, Salinas and Marshall will be playing in front of their home fans against El Monte at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles are a perfect 9-0 against the Lions going back to March of 2022, a lead they'll look to extend.
