Recap: Panhandle Panthers vs. Farwell Steers
It was a good run, but the Panhandle Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 51-31 walloping at the hands of Farwell. While losing is never fun, Panhandle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 164th, while Farwell is ranked 47th).
Makylee Baldwin continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Farwell, scoring 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landri Richey, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Panhandle's loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6. As for Farwell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 games, which provided a nice bump to their 25-3 record this season.
Panhandle will head out on the road to take on Boys Ranch at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Farwell, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bovina at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Bovina is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
