Yuma Catholic put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Thatcher Eagles 38-1. The Shamrocks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Leonel Avelar tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Yuma Catholic got a massive performance out of Joey Carey, who got on base in six of his seven plate appearances with four runs, two triples, and five RBI. The dominant performance gave Carey a new career-high in triples. Another player making a difference was Ivan Guzman, who went 5-for-6 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles.

Yuma Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .689. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .303 or higher in four consecutive games.

Yuma Catholic's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Thatcher, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.
