Basketball Game Preview: Westlake Lions vs. Spencer Greenwave

The Westlake Lions will face off against the Spencer Greenwave at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Westlake knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Spencer likes a good challenge.

Westlake easily dispatched Douglas County on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Westlake fell just short of Carrollton by a score of 58-55 on Friday. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Spencer posted their closest win since November 22, 2024 on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 41-38 victory over Sumter County.

Spencer has also been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Westlake, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-6.
