FORT MYERS, FLA. — The City of Palms Classic tips off Thursday, Dec. 18 and runs through Tuesday, Dec. 23. MaxPreps will provide live updates from the Suncoast Credit Union Arena throughout the six-day event.

Five games are slated for Thursday, including No. 2 Paul VI (Chantilly, Va.) vs. Garfield Heights (Ohio) in a matchup of top five senior Jordan Smith against four-star South Carolina signee Marcus Johnson.

Top 35 Oklahoma State signee Latrell Allmond looks to guide No. 3 Petersburg (Va.) to a victory in the second game of the day as the Crimson Wave face a scrappy Imhotep Charter (Philadelphia, Pa.) group that comes into the matchup ranked No. 32.

The headlining matchup of the day may be a showdown between No. 10 Calvary Christian Academy (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and No. 18 Owasso (Okla.). Four-star junior Cayden Daughtry has been the catalyst for Calvary Christian while two-time MaxPreps Oklahoma Player of the Year Jalen Montonati, a top 60 Oklahoma State signee, returns to the City of Palms Classic after a strong performance at the event during his junior campaign.

Archbishop Stepinac (White Plains, N.Y.) looks to rebound after two early-season losses to quality opponents put them just outside the MaxPreps Top 25 at No. 27. The Crusaders are led by trio of Michigan State signee Jasiah Jervis and USC signees Adonis and Darius Ratliff. Although Sarasota (Fla.) is the local representative in this year's field, the upset-minded group comes into the matchup with a record of 8-0.

The final game of the opening day sees defending champion No. 4 Columbus (Miami, Fla.), face No. 30 Principia (St. Louis, Mo.). Both won state titles in their respective states last season.

Friday includes three highly-anticipated games to wrap up the first round of the 16-team Classic bracket as perennial National Top 10 powerhouse Long Island Lutheran (Brookville, N.Y.) faces No. 14 Bartlett (Tenn.), top-ranked Wheeler (Marietta, Ga.) battles No. 7 Bishop McNamara (Forestville, Md.) and No. 8 St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) takes on No. 16 The Villages Charter (The Villages, Fla.).
