Football Preview: Warrior Run Defenders vs. Central Columbia Bluejays        
        
		
             Two dominant  backs in  Eli Butler and  Ty Regan are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Warrior Run Defenders will face off against the Central Columbia Bluejays at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Warrior Run is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 34.5  points per game  this season.
 Warrior Run fought the good fight in their overtime  match against Hughesville  on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of  32-29. The Defenders have now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Despite the  loss, Warrior Run had strong showings from  Butler, who gained 70 total yards and two touchdowns, and  Samuel Hall, who picked up 85 receiving yards and a touchdown.
 Warrior Run wouldn't let Hughesville keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as  Stone Allison,  Kaleb Nicholas,  and  Gavin Hunter picked up one apiece. Nicholas also  made five  total tackles, which is notable because Warrior Run is 4-1 when he posts  at  least  three  total tackles, but 1-2 otherwise.
 Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Central Columbia's offense. They were dealt  a  56-0 defeat at the hands of Mifflinburg on Friday. The  loss   continues a  trend for the Bluejays in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.
 Warrior Run's defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 5-3. As for Central Columbia, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
 Friday's   matchup might be decided in the on the ground. Warrior Run has been excellent on the ground this season,  having  averaged 158.4  rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Central Columbia struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 175.8. It's looking like  Friday's  contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
 Warrior Run and Central Columbia were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup  back in September of 2021, but Warrior Run came up empty-handed after  a  27-26 defeat. Can Warrior Run avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
