Football Recap: Standing Bear Takes a Loss

Standing Bear extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-4. They were dealt a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Norris Titans. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Titans are ranked 12th).

Hayden Holdren threw for 66 yards on ten of 15 attempts. Paul Hart was his top target, picking up 29 receiving yards.

As for Norris, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. Considering they have won five games by more than 23 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Norris was led to victory by Markus Nelson and Evan Greenfield. Nelson gained 89 total yards and three touchdowns, while Greenfield threw for 185 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes. Nelson is also crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season.

Standing Bear has already played their next matchup, a 21-14 defeat against Pius X on the 10th. As for Norris, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-0 victory against Beatrice on the 10th.
