Basketball Game Preview: Oakley Hornets vs. Prairie Pirates

Having just played yesterday, the Oakley Hornets will jump right back in to play the Prairie Pirates at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Oakley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 56-47 win over Lapwai. The victory was familiar territory for the Hornets, who have now won four contests in a row.

Meanwhile, Prairie came tearing into Friday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.6 points), and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Vikings 69-40. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 games by 24 points or more this season.

Oakley's win bumped their record up to 23-1. As for Prairie, their victory bumped their record up to 22-2.

Oakley was able to grind out a solid win over Prairie in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 37-26. Does Oakley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Prairie turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
