Recap: Branford Buccaneers vs. Hamilton County Trojans
The Branford Buccaneers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 38-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hamilton County. Branford lost against Hamilton County in their previous head to head back in January of 2015, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 52-41 score last time.
Branford lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Keara Hunt, who scored seven points. Another player making a difference was Synniah Watkins, who scored six points.
Hamilton County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aaliyah McFadden , who scored 14 points. Tramial Jackson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Branford's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Hamilton County, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-0.
Branford will head out on the road to face off against Riverside Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Riverside Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Hamilton County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Suwannee at 3:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Suwannee presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hamilton County in Florida (Suwannee is ranked 217th, while Hamilton County is ranked 444th).
