Basketball Game Preview: Mohonasen Warriors vs. Catholic Central Crusaders

Mohonasen hasn't had much luck against Catholic Central recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Mohonasen Warriors will head out to challenge the Catholic Central Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Mohonasen beat Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk 47-37.

Meanwhile, Catholic Central had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38 points) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Friday. They breezed by the Sabres to the tune of 67-28. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Sabres are ranked 111th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Catholic Central's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.8 points per game. As for Mohonasen, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.

Mohonasen suffered a grim 69-44 defeat to Catholic Central in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Mohonasen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
