Softball Game Preview: Lakeland Eagles vs. Hartland Eagles

Lakeland will square off against Hartland at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Lakeland is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Fenton just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 13-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered since April 16, 2024.

Hartland let Walled Lake Northern stack seven runs on them in the second inning on Saturday but luckily Hartland prevailed anyway. The Eagles walked away with a 12-8 victory over the Knights. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Kaitlyn Brennan was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emme Kottong, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hartland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

Hartland now has a winning record of 4-3-1. As for Lakeland, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.
