Baseball Game Preview: Fulshear Chargers vs. Katy Tigers

For the second straight game, Fulshear will face off against Katy. The Chargers will face off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Fulshear 3.5, Katy 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Fulshear is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Katy 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Chargers have posted since February 27th.

Ty Powell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Fulshear's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Trey Giametta, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Fulshear has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Katy, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-8.
