Olive Branch (Miss.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as
Samuel Craft thew a touchdown to
Malik Mayweather with under a minute left, bringing the team to victory over
DeSoto Central (Southaven, Miss.) 31-28.
The Conquistadors saw their 9-point halftime lead fall to five entering the fourth.
Olive Branch's most effective player was Craft. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored 12 touchdowns on the season.
The Jaguars'
Kendal Bunch played well. He ran for two touchdowns. His performance brought his touchdown total to three on the year.
DeSoto Central came in surrendering 14.3 points per game this season. DC struggled against OB's offense, which entered the game scoring 30.8 points per game.
The Conquistadors also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 62-21.
The loss comes after DeSoto Central defeated Horn Lake 39-14 last week. The win was a nice bounce back for Olive Branch, which lost to South Panola last week, 28-14.
DeSoto Central (5-2) will play a 6A Region 1 game against Columbus next week, while Olive Branch (6-1) will take on Horn Lake also in a 6A Region 1 game.
