Baseball Recap: Boiling Springs Takes a Loss

Greencastle-Antrim hit Boiling Springs with a four-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bubblers fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 6-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 on April 1st.

Boiling Springs saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Timmy George, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that George has brought in this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Boiling Springs and nudges their season record down to 7-6. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Greencastle-Antrim, their record now sits at 7-5.

Coming up, Boiling Springs will be playing in front of their home fans against West Perry at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greencastle-Antrim, they will head out on the road to face off against Chambersburg at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Blue Devils 2.5, the Trojans 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
