The Prospect Ridge Academy Miners have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 20 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Brush 68-31 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Prospect Ridge Academy has managed all season.
Samuel Vasquez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Liam Schilling, who scored 12 points.
The victory (which was Prospect Ridge Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 5-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Brush, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prospect Ridge Academy will take on Manual at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brush won't have much time to rest: their next match is against University at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th. University is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
